Balancing Omega 3 and 6
The ideal ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 is 5:1. But the majority of dogs receive a ratio closer to 20:1 (omega-6:omega-3).
Omega 6 are readily available in foods (though not in the form of GLA) because they are cheaper. Omega 3s are not because of expense and rancidity, so it’s that much more important to add clean forms of Omega 3 (EPA & DHA) to the bowl.
