Probiotics

Probiotics for cats are essential for proper digestion! These are “good bacteria," living microorganisms projecting health benefits for their host—namely, digestive systems. They're quantified by the number of colony forming units (CFUs), a term that describes the probiotic's ability to reproduce. The higher the CFU, the better the effect of the probiotic on the body.

Prebiotics of our digestive enzymes

Prebiotics

Prebiotics are essentially the food source for probiotics. They are long-chain sugars that encourage the growth of good bacteria in the gut. It's important to have a high-level CFU probiotic that accompanies prebiotics.

Digestive Enzymes

Enzymes work to break down nutrients. Some molecules are harder to break down for dogs & cats (for instance, the cellulose found in plant-based foods). Digestive enzymes break down large molecules into smaller, more usable pieces that can be utilized effectively by the digestive tract. Microflora Plus contains digestive enzymes that are specifically geared towards a carnivore’s needs, including elevated levels of amylase and cellulase.

  • HUT= hydrolysis of 8,250µg tyrosine from hemoglobin/min/g
  • FIP = liberates 2,000µmoles fatty acid from olive oil/min/mg
  • CU = hydrolysis of 200 b-1,4 glucosidic bonds from carboxymethylcellulose/min/g
  • GDU = liberation of 15.8µg tyrosine from casein/min/g
  • TU = liberates 5µg tyrosine from casein/min/g

Pro Tips for Picky Eaters:

If feeding a raw, wet or rehydrated diet, we’ve found the sprinkled Microflora to be typically unnoticed when mixed in with meals. For a dry kibble diet, it can sometimes help to add a couple splashes of water to help the powder stick to the kibble pieces.

Directions for Use

Separate capsule and mix with food

<20 lbs: ½ capsule per day
21-40 lbs: 1 capsule per day
41-80 lbs: 2 capsule per day
81-120 lbs: 3 capsule per day
>120 lbs: 4 capsule per day

For animal use only. This product is intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. Safe use in pregnant animals or animals intended for breeding has not been proven. If animal’s condition worsens or does not improve, stop product administration and consult your veterinarian.
