Every dog deserves years of tug of war and games of fetch and every cat, a feather to pounce and stuffed mouse to stalk. To keep your four-legged friend moving (or napping the day away) and feeling their best as they age, he needs an amino acid called taurine. This superstar builds protein for heart muscle strength, maintains appropriate hydration and electrolyte balance in your cells, forms bile to help digestion, and regulates oxidative stress along with the immune system (whew!). Because taurine benefits brain, heart, and eye function, it’s especially helpful for aging dogs and breeds prone to cardiac stress.

Emerging research indicates the vitality of taurine in a dog’s diet. Most dog foods however, don’t have enough meat-based whole food proteins to provide the proper amount of taurine. With that in mind, Dr. Chris Bessent formulated a new supplement for heart health.

“Taurine Boost helps keep your dog’s heart energized and pumping strong for years to come.” – Dr. Bessent

Taurine Boost is a proprietary blend of amino acids, nutrients and antioxidants. Each ingredient in this veterinarian-developed formula works to keep your pets’ tail happily wagging.

What's In It?

taurine
l-Carnitine
Omega 3s from Krill
Coenzyme Q10

Taurine

Taurine is an amino sulfonic acid aiding in cardiac function, eye health, immune system function, and multiple other systems (ambitious little guy). Found in meat-based proteins, taurine helps build proteins concentrated heavily in the heart muscles, the eyes, and the brain. L carnitine and taurine supplementation is important to consider, especially in pets prone to cardiac stress, because both are significant amino acids for dogs' and cats’ heart health.

L-Carnitine

L-carnitine is an amino acid (a building block for proteins) that helps the body produce energy. It benefits several body processes including heart and brain function as well as muscle movement. With carnitine deficiency, fatty acids can’t be transported for energy production and a variety of health problems can occur, including heart disease.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA & DHA) are important nutrients that serve as energy for the heart, muscles, and organs. Omega 3s promote heart health and reduce inflammation (thanks, fellas.). We use krill for our omega-3 source because it's found at the bottom of the food chain and does not harbor as much mercury as a larger fish.

Coenzyme Q10

Coenzyme Q10 works to generate energy in your cells but also serves as an antioxidant. Antioxidants help neutralize free radicals (reactive atoms produced by oxidative stress) in our bodies. According to veterinarians of the Veterinary Centers of America, "CoQ-10 appears very successful in helping pets with mild cardiac disease."
